LISTENING
SECTION
In this
section of the test you will have a chance to show how well you understand
spoken English. There are four parts to this section with special direction for
each part.
PART I. PICTURES
Direction:
For each item, there is a picture and four short statements about it on the
tape. They are not written about on your test book, so you must listen
carefully. You must choose one sentence of
A, B, C or D that best describes what you see in the picture. Then, on
your answer sheet, mark your choice.
Example:

Look at
the picture and listen to the four statements :
a. He is
looking at the picture of the woman.
b. They are
sitting on a chair holding a camera.
c. He is
pointing at the standing woman.
d. They are
taking a photograph of the woman.
Choice
D:” They are taking a photograph of the woman.”, best describes what can be seen in the
picture, therefore you should mark D on your answer sheet. Now let’s begin with

PART II. QUESTION AND RESPONSE
Directions : In this part of the test you will
hear several questions spoken in English, followed by three responses, also
spoken in English. The question and responses will not be printed in your test
book, so you must listen carefully to understand what the speaker says. You
have to choose the best response to each question.
Now
listen to a sample question.
You will
hear :” Good morning
John, How are you?”
You will
also hear :a. I’m
fine , thank you
b. I’m in the living
room.
c. My name is John.
Choice A
“ I’m fine, thank you” is the appropriate response to the question “Good morning John, How are you?”. Therefore

you will also hear a question about each conversation. The question will be
followed by four answers. You have to choose the best answer to each question
and mark it on your answer sheet.

You will
also hear :What do you learn
from the conversation?

Choice C “ The boy was born in March”, best answer the question
;”what do you learn from the conversation?”. Therefore , you should mark C on
your answer sheet.
